As an artist or music creator, you've probably heard it or read about it a million times that collaboration is necessary to grow your fanbase. While a chunk of this statement is true, featuring a big artist does not necessarily mean you're going to have a big song or a hit if you don't put in any effort or strategy to market the song. Fortunately, Spotify has a subtle marketing feature that makes collaborators benefit from each other's fans.

When you're a featured artist and you're named or listed as a primary artist on a song, the performance data of the song is shared between all the primary artists on Spotify. This includes all fans/listeners as well as the streams and analytics of the song.

This is data that Spotify's algorithm can use to push your own solo music to those same fans in hopes that they like it since they liked the song you were featured on. This is free marketing for you solely based on the fact that you were part of a certain collaboration and no additional marketing effort from you.
